The day of the week following Monday and right before Wednesday.

I’ve always felt that Tuesdays are the laid-back day of the week. Can’t tell you why.

Tuesday use to be the slowest day in retail. Not sure if that still stands.

Manic Mondays must cause Toned Down Tuesdays 🙂

Lovin’ Tuesday.

A Rhythm All Its Own

I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day. ~Elwyn Brooks White

What do you get when you cross “extraordinary” loved ones that still talk to me, work load blessings beyond belief, memorable road trips, while living through a remodel to renovate a 148 year old building?

It’s either a sh*t load of patience or … immense gratitude.

Probably both … but I haven’t had enough coffee to make up a new word.

Still looking for that rhythm that I thought I once had.

Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids.

The Winner Is …

kreativ blogger award
Thanks to Collapsing World for the cool Kreativ Blogger logo!

Thank you “just judee for nominating us for the Kreativ Blogger Award!

Being that it’s my first award, since winning a blue ribbon in 6th grade for hurdles, I am truly honored!

Judee is one of those dear souls that loves synchronicity. Especially the part when it just pops in and surprises you with something silly and completely wonderful! Just like this!

In addition, you can tell she’s a really sweet person!

FYI … This award was established in 2008 by a Norwegian woman named Hulda Husfrue, to congratulate and motivate fellow bloggers on their work. Thank you, Hulda:)

Here is a link back to Judee’s post where she was given the award: Kreative – Me?

These are the rules:

  1. You must thank the person who has given you the award.
  2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
  3. Link the person who has nominated you for the award.
  4. Name 7 things about yourself that people might find interesting.
  5. Nominate 7 other Kreativ Bloggers.
  6. Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
  7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs to let them know they have been nominated.

Then there are those 7 things about me …

1) Born and raised in Minneapolis,Minnesota and have lived here my entire life.

2) My obsession with photography, since getting my iPhone, has become a concern.

3) No offense … the more I know people the more I love my dogs.

4) My greatest achievement has to be my amazing children who have gone on to bless me with 5 grandsons.

5) I did well in school but you wouldn’t know it by my fascination with the comma.

6) When I’m not gluing stuff to other stuff … or playing with my kids, I’m on the road, travelling our great country, producing corporate events with my best friend and true soul mate. I always end up backstage and I was once groped by Tony Orlando but not Dawn. ;)  Sidebar: Even though it was inappropriate, he smelled really good!

7) I don’t mind what happens, because I’m always hoping for the best!

and my nominations are …

Again, thank you Judee, I really appreciate you spreading the love and making me read the directions.

Hope I got it right.

Putting It Out There

I’ve been blogging since 2008 and I’m not sure why.

Then I read …

“The Internet has no eraser.” – Liz Strauss

… and that only made it worse.

It’s out there and I can’t take it back.

To blog or not to blog, that is the question … and is that even possible?

Which sent me into a tail spin, 15 tabs open, to find the inspiration to carry on.

Stopped when I got to the  10 Reasons Why Bloggers Hate Blogging

You’re only as good as your last post … good to whom I’m not sure … but I did sell something today … bonus!

Checking In

I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move. ~Robert Louis Stevenson

Declaring myself a true gypsy, after being on the road for over half the year.

BTW … this isn’t “Life Styles of the Rich & Famous”we work while we’re wandering around.

Returning to the place you call home is overwhelming!

Who needs all this stuff?

Wondering where to begin.

Finishing this blog post is a good start!

Have a great day:)

Things Have Changed

Always a work in progress…

Bob Dylan

Things Have Changed
A worried man with a worried mind
No one in front of me and nothing behind
There’s a woman on my lap and she’s drinking champagne
Got white skin, got assassin’s eyes
I’m looking up into the sapphire tinted skies
I’m well dressed, waiting on the last train

Standing on the gallows with my head in a noose
Any minute now I’m expecting all hell to break loose

People are crazy and times are strange
I’m locked in tight, I’m out of range
I used to care, but things have changed

This place ain’t doing me any good
I’m in the wrong town, I should be in Hollywood
Just for a second there I thought I saw something move
Gonna take dancing lessons do the jitterbug rag
Ain’t no shortcuts, gonna dress in drag
Only a fool in here would think he’s got anything to prove

Lot of water under the bridge, Lot of other stuff too
Don’t get up gentlemen, I’m only passing through

I’ve been walking forty miles of bad road
If the bible is right, the world will explode
I’ve been trying to get as far away from myself as I can
Some things are too hot to touch
The human mind can only stand so much
You can’t win with a losing hand

Feel like falling in love with the first woman I meet
Putting her in a wheel barrow and wheeling her down the street

I hurt easy, I just don’t show it
You can hurt someone and not even know it
The next sixty seconds could be like an eternity
Gonna get low down, gonna fly high
All the truth in the world adds up to one big lie
I’m love with a woman who don’t even appeal to me

Mr. Jinx and Miss Lucy, they jumped in the lake
I’m not that eager to make a mistake

Time is but the stream I go a-fishing in. ~Henry David Thoreau

Exactly 44 minutes have passed since I started to write (and rewrite) this overdue blog post.

It’s really not overdue. I’m using that term for the soul purpose of a deal I made with myself to blog everyday.

I was doing so well and life happened.

The lovely thing about blogging is that I don’t have to blog if I don’t want to.

Truth be told … I enjoy blogging.

Just not the getting back up on the horse part.

It’s a terrible feeling and only seems to happen after not blogging for multiple days. I can only describe it as the pain of starting over after you haven’t worked out in awhile.

I feel so much better.

Have a great weekend!

It’s Called An Abyss

toy story 2You know … a great big endless space.

That’s what this is. All of it.

The one constant is our insatiable need to try to fill every part of it, on a daily basis.

Not gonna happen.

Why can’t we just be happy with what we’re experiencing, while we we’re experiencing it?

I think A.A. Milne may have nailed it …

“Well,” said Pooh, “what I like best,” and then he had to stop and think.  Because although eating honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn’t know what it was called.

Running Out of Words

Mr. Natural
Just passin' thru ...

Over the weekend, people of all shapes and sizes continued to share a level of boredom that they have reached with socializing online.

Truth is … most of my posts (blog or otherwise) are really just a form of journal therapy for my own soul.

While typing random words to a virtual world, I imagine kind faceless souls sitting in front of their computer screens singing my praises silently.

At times, that can be enough to inspire me to continue …

… until I run up against my involuntary head shaking that can lead to …

What’s the point?

Working hard to keep on keeping on.

Just happy to be back for another fun filled Monday!

Not Fit for Man, Woman or Beast

Winter is what happens while you're making other plans. - Moi'

You’ve got to be hardy … or insane, to live through Minnesota winters.

Hate when the bright beautiful sunshine of late winter comes … below zero frigid temperatures always follow.

I’m not sure which is worse …

Weeks of no sunlight but temperatures you can endure.

Or …

Freezing your squinting eyes shut with little icicles hanging off your scarf.

No choice there.

The Thrill of the Hunt

Mosaic Tile
mosaic tile materials

It doesn’t take an enormous amount of material to complete a personal mosaic tile project.  Gather some vintage china, a couple of pounds of assorted tile, or glass, and a few odds and ends along with mosaic tile tools, a base to glue the materials to and the proper adhesives for the job.

Approximate number of tiles needed to cover 1 square foot

  • 225 – 3/4″ Tiles
  • 729 – 3/8″ Tiles
  • 400 – 5/8″ Tiles
  • 144 – 1″ Tiles

Approximate Number of Tiles by the Pound

As tile weight varies by style & color … there may be more or less per bag.

1″ inch Sheet Tile – 144 tiles per sheet 12″x12″

3/4″ inch tiles – approx. 225 tiles to cover 1 square foot

1/2 pound bag = approx. 70 tiles

1 pound bag = approx. 140 tiles

3/8″ inch tiles

Approx. 720 tiles to cover 1 square foot

1/2 pound bag = approx. 300 tiles

1 pound bag = approx. 600 tiles

5/8″ inch tiles

Approx. 400 tile to cover 1 square foot
