When a certain artist who creates windows, mirrors, tables & bowls decorated with images, glass, trinkets, tile fragments & often hidden words in the designs was asked what her artwork meant to her she said: “I think I like it because it tells so much about my story.” Or anyone’s life, for that matter… “Life smashes things to bits and you glue it back together to make something beautiful with the pieces.” – author unknown
What do you get when you cross “extraordinary” loved ones that still talk to me, work load blessings beyond belief, memorable road trips, while living through a remodel to renovate a 148 year old building?
It’s either a sh*t load of patience or … immense gratitude.
Probably both … but I haven’t had enough coffee to make up a new word.
Still looking for that rhythm that I thought I once had.
2) My obsession with photography, since getting my iPhone, has become a concern.
3) No offense … the more I know people the more I love my dogs.
4) My greatest achievement has to be my amazing children who have gone on to bless me with 5 grandsons.
5) I did well in school but you wouldn’t know it by my fascination with the comma.
6) When I’m not gluing stuff to other stuff … or playing with my kids, I’m on the road, travelling our great country, producing corporate events with my best friend and true soul mate. I always end up backstage and I was once groped by Tony Orlando but not Dawn. Sidebar: Even though it was inappropriate, he smelled really good!
7) I don’t mind what happens, because I’m always hoping for the best!
Things Have Changed
A worried man with a worried mind
No one in front of me and nothing behind
There’s a woman on my lap and she’s drinking champagne
Got white skin, got assassin’s eyes
I’m looking up into the sapphire tinted skies
I’m well dressed, waiting on the last train
Standing on the gallows with my head in a noose
Any minute now I’m expecting all hell to break loose
People are crazy and times are strange
I’m locked in tight, I’m out of range
I used to care, but things have changed
This place ain’t doing me any good
I’m in the wrong town, I should be in Hollywood
Just for a second there I thought I saw something move
Gonna take dancing lessons do the jitterbug rag
Ain’t no shortcuts, gonna dress in drag
Only a fool in here would think he’s got anything to prove
Lot of water under the bridge, Lot of other stuff too
Don’t get up gentlemen, I’m only passing through
I’ve been walking forty miles of bad road
If the bible is right, the world will explode
I’ve been trying to get as far away from myself as I can
Some things are too hot to touch
The human mind can only stand so much
You can’t win with a losing hand
Feel like falling in love with the first woman I meet
Putting her in a wheel barrow and wheeling her down the street
I hurt easy, I just don’t show it
You can hurt someone and not even know it
The next sixty seconds could be like an eternity
Gonna get low down, gonna fly high
All the truth in the world adds up to one big lie
I’m love with a woman who don’t even appeal to me
Mr. Jinx and Miss Lucy, they jumped in the lake
I’m not that eager to make a mistake
The one constant is our insatiable need to try to fill every part of it, on a daily basis.
Not gonna happen.
Why can’t we just be happy with what we’re experiencing, while we we’re experiencing it?
I think A.A. Milne may have nailed it …
“Well,” said Pooh, “what I like best,” and then he had to stop and think. Because although eating honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn’t know what it was called.
