Losing My Marbles

A jar of glass marbles jumped off the shelf, inspiration granted.

The vintage window was purchased in Orange, California with my sista friend, Alice.  A fun day was had by all.

Lovin’ the glass heart porthole! Sorry, sold.

“Conscience is no more than the dead speaking to us.” ― Jim Carroll  -SOLD

“Don’t think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It’s self-conscious and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can’t “try” to do things. You simply “must” do things.” — Ray Bradbury

Glass on Glass
Glass on Glass

“The truly creative mind in any field is no more than this: A human creature born abnormally, inhumanly sensitive. To him… a touch is a blow, a sound is a noise, a misfortune is a tragedy, a joy is an ecstasy, a friend is a lover, a lover is a god, and failure is death. Add to this cruelly delicate organism the overpowering necessity to create, create, create — so that without the creating of music or poetry or books or buildings or something of meaning, his very breath is cut off from him. He must create, must pour out creation. By some strange, unknown, inward urgency he is not really alive unless he is creating.” — Pearl S. Buck

The Nerve of Some People

Chutzpah is a Yiddish word meaning having gall … brazen nerve … effrontery… sheer guts… plus arrogance; it’s Yiddish and, as Leo Rosten writes, no other word, and no other language, can do it justice.

pretzel-lady

A little old lady sold pretzels on a street corner for a dollar each.
Every day a young man would leave his office building at lunch time
and as he passed the pretzel stand, he would leave her a dollar, but
never take a pretzel.

This offering went on for more than three years. The two of them
never spoke. One day as the young man passed the old lady’s stand
and left his dollar as usual, the pretzel lady spoke to him for the first
time in over three years. Without blinking an eye she said:

“They’re a dollar and a quarter now.”

Do You Have Any Fairies Lying Around?

That was an actual question that was posed to me this past week.

Scary thing is … I think I do have a fairy or two lying around …

I just can’t find the little buggers … they must be hiding;) Fairies do that, you know.

plastic-figurines

So, Alice … the fairies are indisposed but I do have a colony of plastic rabbits, drive thru plastic toys and the Three Stooges minus Moe … maybe he’s with the fairies.

I’ll keep looking!
