Winter Blues

maybe my tile tools are under the snow too.

Two Dogs and a Camera

2 dogs and a camera It snowed again. No walks, right?

2 dogs and a camera Follow me, I’ll clear a path and she can sit over there.

Bet she wishes she could try out her new clothesline.

2 dogs and a camera We miss you, D  and wanted you to know that she’s gone a bit batty – with winter dragging on and all …. not to mention the moving box mountain under 5 feet of snow but no worries …

Mother Nature threw in a blue sunrise and made – at least her – love winter all over again. It’s all good.

Do You Have Any Fairies Lying Around?

That was an actual question that was posed to me this past week.

Scary thing is … I think I do have a fairy or two lying around …

I just can’t find the little buggers … they must be hiding;) Fairies do that, you know.

So, Alice … the fairies are indisposed but I do have a colony of plastic rabbits, drive thru plastic toys and the Three Stooges minus Moe … maybe he’s with the fairies.

I’ll keep looking!

Going With The Snow

Jake inspecting the world.

Love being snowed in.

It turns the volume down.

But then there’s the filthy car, wrecked shoes and the salt dust (on the car) that rubs off on your coat.

If you walk like a penguin, you won’t fall.

That’s all I’ve got.

Have a great day.

Winter Has Its Moments

Beyond the mountains of snow, freezing temperatures, sitting for long periods of time eating comfort food and the constant exposure to sick people … winter really is beautiful.

Trying to stay positive … even if there is absolutely ….

Dissing the Groundhog

Punxsutawney Phil, the world famous Groundhog, crawled out of his burrow on Feb. 2nd and didn’t see his shadow.

Those of us in the Minnesota tundra find it hard to believe that we’ve only got two more weeks of winter.

If it’s true, we all better go out and buy a row boat … or an ark.

It’s a nice thought … Jake and I believe otherwise.

On Frozen Pond

Breathing in nature, even in the dead of winter … have to!

Winter is nature's way of saying, "Up yours." Robert Byrne

After being absent from our blog for over a month…I’m still searching for the inspiration and motivation to share.  So while I’m still pondering what to write about, here are some great winter quotes. Hope it makes you feel a little better about the fact that we’ll be freezing our butts off for the next 6 months. (In Minnesota, anyway;)

  • I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape – the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter.  Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn’t show.  – Andrew Wyeth
Winter is the time of promise because there is so little to do – or because you can now and then permit yourself the luxury of thinking so. – Stanley Crawford
  • I was just thinking, if it is really religion with these nudist colonies, they sure must turn atheists in the wintertime.  – Will Rogers
  • Winter is nature’s way of saying, “Up yours.”  – Robert Byrne
  • To shorten winter, borrow some money due in spring. – W.J. Vogel
  • Perhaps I am a bear, or some hibernating animal underneath, for the instinct to be half asleep all winter is so strong in me. – Anne Morrow Lindbergh

Is that snow? Yep!

It’s better than a tidal wave;-)
