When a certain artist who creates windows, mirrors, tables & bowls decorated with images, glass, trinkets, tile fragments & often hidden words in the designs was asked what her artwork meant to her she said: “I think I like it because it tells so much about my story.” Or anyone’s life, for that matter… “Life smashes things to bits and you glue it back together to make something beautiful with the pieces.” – author unknown
organizing all my web stuff and i haven’t been around these parts since last October. could it be that the last thing I sat down to create was the mosaic tile mirror I made for Alice’s birthday? How can that be?

Didn’t know what a Selfie was, until my kids told me.
According to the Urban Dictionary a #Selfie is … A picture taken of yourself that is planned to be uploaded to Facebook, Myspace or any other sort of social networking website. You can usually see the person’s arm holding out the camera in which case you can clearly tell that this person does not have any friends to take pictures of them so they resort to Myspace to find internet friends and post pictures of themselves, taken by themselves. A selfie is usually accompanied by a kissy face or the individual looking in a direction that is not towards the camera.
Thank gawd that’s cleared up … and here I’ve been taking pictures of myself all my life and I didn’t have a clue what it was called:)
Beach Feet is probably the first in a series of #Selfie Feet Photos that I’ve taken over the years.
It was just me, my Selfie and I in Kauai ’05.
Being alone does weird and amazing things to a person.
When was the last time you were alone?
If you take a journey alone, you look for things to do … like taking your 2 feet places and then documenting their time there. Plus … it gives you a good reason to have a pedicure.
Found the answer that I was looking for so I Photoshopped it.
“There is a certain strength in being alone.”
― Heather Duffy Stone
… and it takes a ton of courage.
“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land; there is no other life but this.”
— Henry David Thoreau
